HISTORY

I have been a car enthusiast all my life, and cars have dominated my thinking for as long as I can remember. I took a lot of teasing about the amount of time I spent reading magazines, talking to people, and going to car related events. This several-decade focus has allowed me to become familiar with a huge amount of information, without the need to 'cram' data currently in order to familiarize myself with today's rapidly changing market. What worked 18 months ago will not work now!

For the last 12 years I have sold new and used cars professionally. New cars have included Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover, Audi, and BMW, with literally dozens of used makes.

In addition, I am a driving instructor and teach the classroom sessions for the BMW Car Club of America driver's schools held at Putnam Park, Meridian IN, and also instruct for the Porsche-, Ferrari-, and Dodge Viper Clubs of America throughout the Midwest. Personal and corporate instruction is also available.

Throughout my career, I have felt that the true enthusiast has been ignored by the established car dealerships. Enthusiasts are seen as 'too demanding', ("I'd like all the service records, please".) 'too picky' (says the salesman, "Why wait for a 5 speed when I have this nice automatic?"), and 'too hard to deal with', ("I won't agree to purchase the car until an independent mechanic has checked it out.") The average dealership is not staffed with people who truly LOVE cars - they tend to only truly love MONEY. A favorite saying amongst one dealership who shall remain nameless is, "I only know two things about that car, the wheelbase and the commission, and I'm not positive about the wheelbase".

My focus, and the driving (no pun intended :)) force behind The Driver's Edge is to provide a place where car enthusiasts can congregate and discuss auto - related business, swap advice, and, hopefully, purchase enthusiast - oriented automobiles. We specialize in BMW M3s, M5s, 325iSs, and Porsche 911s, as well as having access to just about anything else you might want. Tell us what you want and we'll find it for you!

The Driver's Edge is being created by -and for - the enthusiast. If you have an interest in cars, driving, maintenance, or have a question that is automotive related, give us a call at 317-535-0250 or email us at jeff@driversedge.com.
